Both are used for the same purpose however, the two have their owndifferences. The coffin typically has six sides with a top and bottom sie. On the contrary the casket only has four sides and have an opening half lid for viewing. Caskets are widely used today though there are still some other countries which opt for cardboard coffins during funerals and burials.
